Meet the Team
David "Dino" Farrell
President/CEO
With more than 15 years of combined military and law enforcement experience, David “Dino” Farrell has built a career centered on leadership, service, and community protection. Recognized as a respected leader within Indiana’s School Resource Officer community, Dino is passionate about creating safer schools, mentoring students, and building strong, positive relationships between youth and law enforcement.
In addition to his professional service, Dino has coached football at multiple levels throughout the Indianapolis area, helping shape young athletes both on and off the field through leadership, discipline, and character development. He also proudly serves as Vice President of the Indiana School Resource Officers Association Foundation Board, continuing his commitment to advancing school safety and supporting communities across the state.
Dino’s dedication to protecting, guiding, and empowering others is at the heart of everything he does—making him a trusted advocate for safety, leadership, and community partnership.
Amy Nickol
Director of Operations
Amy Nickol brings 15 years of experience in public education, with a strong commitment to creating safe, supportive, and student-centered environments for schools and communities. As an Indiana School Safety Specialist, she is certified in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and is an active member of both INSROA and NASRO, regularly attending state and national conferences to stay informed on emerging trends, best practices, and proactive approaches to school safety and security. Amy also serves as Treasurer of the INSROA Foundation Board, supporting initiatives that strengthen school safety, student support, and community partnerships across Indiana.
Beyond her professional role in education, Amy is deeply engaged in community service. She is actively involved with Habit of the Heart and the Hendricks County Community Foundation, supporting initiatives that strengthen and serve local families and youth. She also volunteers as both the Club and Rec Volleyball Commissioner with Avon Youth Sports, coaches a Jr. Orioles Volleyball Club team, and serves as a middle school volleyball coach. Through these leadership and coaching roles, Amy is passionate about mentoring young athletes, building confidence, and helping students grow both on and off the court.

Of the immense responsibilities that are ladened upon today’s school administrators, none compare to the importance of the overall safety of our children. With the help of various grants and priorities of school boards and commissions, schools continually increase their budget to meet the needs of their school safety plans. An essential component of managing and monitoring these plans includes a vulnerability assessment annually. Enlisting the services of an accomplished, expert school resource officer to annually visit and to conduct this assessment not only brings awareness to the school’s strengths, areas for improvements and immediate actions, but it assists in ongoing and evolving awareness of the physical environment in which we house students and staff. Having an annual assessment aides in setting safety goals and plans. This is why each year in which I authored my school’s Homeland Security grant, I invited Spartacus Protection to conduct a vulnerability assessment. The detailed report, candid input, and suggestions were invaluable to ensuring the school’s safety. From the custodians and maintenance department to the front office to the nurse to the classroom to the grounds, every angle is analyzed and rated.
